Sitabuldi Fort

Sitabuldi Fort occupies twin hills at the center of Nagpur and marks the site of the 1817 Battle of Sitabuldi between the Kingdom of Nagpur and British forces. Built by a British officer soon after, the fort now falls under Indian Army control and opens to visitors only on Independence Day and Republic Day. It holds a cell associated with Gandhi's imprisonment, along with a memorial to soldiers lost in the Anglo-Maratha conflict. The hilltop location offers sweeping views over the city, making the fort a compact but historically dense stop.
