Ramtek Fort Temple sits atop a hill in the town of Ramtek, roughly 45 kilometers from Nagpur, and is believed to be a resting place of Lord Rama during his exile before the conquest of Lanka. The temple complex also includes the 11th century Shantinath Jain temple, known for detailed carvings, along with structures dedicated to the poet Kalidasa. The site carries deep mythological weight, with references reaching back to the Mahabharata. Nearby Khindsi Lake and Nagardhan Fort round out a full day trip for visitors combining history, mythology, and scenery.
