Deekshabhoomi is a grand Buddhist monument built as the world's largest hollow stupa, drawing design inspiration from the ancient Sanchi Stupa. The site marks the spot where Dr. B.R. Ambedkar led around 400,000 followers in embracing Buddhism in 1956, a moment that reshaped social and religious identity across the region. Unveiled to the public in 2001 after 23 years of construction, the stupa houses a Buddha idol gifted by Thai students. The complex offers gardens, fountains, and open space for meditation, making it both a pilgrimage site and a peaceful city escape.
