The Shri Ramdev Pashu Mela is held every year on open ground at Mansar village, about 5 km from Nagaur. It starts in the Hindu month of Magh, usually in late January or February, and runs for about a week. Farmers and traders bring cattle, camels, horses and bullocks, especially the Nagauri breed of bullock, and the ground fills with tents, decorated animals, and stalls selling leather, saddles and spices. There are camel races and folk performances. Outside fair time the ground is empty, so plan your visit around the fair dates, which the district announces each year.
