St. Philomena’s Church

Neo-Gothic cathedral with soaring spires.

Modelled after the Gothic Cologne Cathedral in Germany, St. Philomena Church is one of the tallest churches in India and a striking landmark on Mysuru skyline. Built between 1933 and 1941 during the reign of Maharaja Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV, its twin spires rise 54 metres above the ground. The interiors feature beautiful stained glass windows that cast coloured light across the nave, creating an atmosphere of quiet reverence that welcomes visitors of all faiths.
