Gun Hill

The second highest peak in Mussoorie at 2,024 metres, accessible by cable car from Mall Road, offering panoramic views of the Garhwal Himalayan peaks including Bandarpunch, Srikantha, and the Gangotri group.

Gun Hill is the second highest point in Mussoorie at 2,024 metres (6,640 feet) and one of the town's most visited viewpoints. The peak gets its name from a cannon once installed here that was fired daily at noon to help residents set their clocks - a British-era practice now long discontinued.

The cable car from Mall Road takes visitors to the summit in minutes and is one of the most popular rides in Mussoorie. From the top, on clear days, the Garhwal Himalayan range unfolds - including Bandarpunch, Srikantha, Pithwara, and the Gangotri group of peaks. The view of Mussoorie town and the Doon Valley far below is equally impressive.

Best visited early morning for clear Himalayan views before clouds build. The cable car operates daily; timings vary by season. A small market of stalls and photography services operates at the summit.
