Kala Ghoda

Kala Ghoda is a compact heritage precinct in South Mumbai, home to the Jehangir Art Gallery, CSMVS museum, the David Sassoon Library, and several smaller galleries and design stores. The name, meaning "black horse," comes from a statue that once stood here. The area is best explored on foot, with old colonial buildings sitting alongside newer cafes and boutiques. It comes alive every February during the nine day Kala Ghoda Arts Festival, which fills the streets with art, music, and food stalls, and works well as a single walking stop covering several other Fort area attractions.
