Aaswad

Aaswad has been serving traditional Maharashtrian food in Dadar since 1986, growing from a small snacks counter into one of the neighbourhood's most crowded restaurants. The misal pav here earned international attention in 2015 when it was named the world's tastiest vegetarian dish at a London food award, built on a spicy curry of sprouted beans topped with crunchy farsan and fresh pav. Beyond misal, regulars come for thalipeeth, sabudana vada and kothimbir vadi, each dish carrying the same homely, unmistakably Maharashtrian character.
