Veda Peak, locally called Pak Koi, is the highest point in Mon district, standing roughly 70 kilometers from the town. On a clear day, visitors can see both the Brahmaputra river in India and the Chindwin river across the border in Myanmar. A waterfall near the summit adds to the appeal, considered one of the most beautiful spots in the Konyak countryside. The peak also carries historical weight as the site of the first British camp in the Naga Hills and the first opium plantation grown by colonial soldiers.
