Longkhum Village

A misty hilltop Ao village famed for rhododendrons, a legendary stone bridge, and its soul retaining folklore.

Longkhum Village perches on a ridge about 17 kilometers from Mokokchung town at an altitude near 1846 meters, among the highest points in the district. Rhododendron forests and pine trees blanket the hillsides, framing sweeping views of the valley below. According to Ao Naga legend, a visitor's soul lingers at Longkhum after a first visit, and only a return trip can retrieve it. The village is also known for the Longlangba stone bridge, local handicrafts, and homemade rice beer.
