Sun Temple Modhera was built in the early 11th century under Bhima I and is dedicated to Surya. The east-facing shrine and pillared halls are aligned so equinox sunrise light once reached the sanctum. Walls and pillars carry dense carvings of deities, dancers, and floral bands typical of Solanki craft. Visit in soft morning light, then continue to the adjoining kund and torana within the same ASI complex.
