Rising to 2,100 meters, Chembra Peak is the highest point in Wayanad and one of the most sought-after treks in the Western Ghats. The trail passes through grassland and shola forest before reaching Hridaya Saras, a naturally heart-shaped lake partway up the climb. The full ascent takes around two to three hours each way, requires a permit from the forest department checkpost near Meppadi, and closes to trekkers after late morning to ensure a safe descent before dark.
