Chand Baori Stepwell

Roughly 25 to 27 km from Mehandipur, the Chand Baori Stepwell descends 13 storeys and around 3,500 symmetrically cut steps into the earth, built by regional rulers over a thousand years ago. Its precise geometric pattern of interlocking staircases makes it one of the most photographed stepwells in India, often mistaken for an optical illusion. Originally built for water storage in the arid plains, it now draws travelers extending their Mehandipur trip toward Abhaneri and Jaipur.
