Medak Cathedral

The largest church in Asia, a Gothic landmark with soaring stained glass windows and a towering spire.

Medak Cathedral rises as the largest church in Asia and the second largest in the world after the Vatican. Built in Gothic style and completed in 1924, the cathedral seats up to 5000 worshippers under a 175 foot tower. Three magnificent stained glass windows depict scenes from the life of Jesus Christ, filling the nave with color on sunlit mornings. Commissioned by the Diocese of Medak, it remains an active place of worship and a major landmark in Telangana.
