Keshav Dev Temple in Mathura is built at the site traditionally identified as the birthplace of Lord Krishna, adjacent to the Krishna Janmabhoomi complex. The temple is dedicated to Keshav Dev, another name for Lord Vishnu/Krishna. The original temple at this site was built and destroyed multiple times over centuries; the current structure was built in the 20th century. A mosque built by Aurangzeb stands adjacent to the temple, making this site both religiously and historically significant. The temple is especially important during Janmashtami celebrations in Mathura.
