Milagres Church, founded in 1680 by Bishop Thomas de Castro, ranks among the oldest churches in Dakshina Kannada and is dedicated to Our Lady of Miracles. Located in the Hampankatta locality, the church has been sustained over more than three centuries by generations of Goan, European, and Mangalorean priests. Regular Sunday mass and prayer services continue at the site today.
