Shyamji Krishna Varma Smarak

A memorial and museum honoring freedom fighter Shyamji Krishna Varma, built in 2010 on Mandvi's outskirts.

Also known as Kranti Teerth, the Shyamji Krishna Varma Smarak was built by the Gujarat government in 2010 to honor the revolutionary born in Mandvi in 1857. Varma founded India House in London and used his journal, the Indian Sociologist, to advocate for independence. The memorial documents his life and contributions to the freedom movement through exhibits and displays, offering visitors a quieter, reflective counterpoint to Mandvi's beach and palace attractions.
