Pandoh Dam

Pandoh Dam was completed in 1977 as part of the Beas Project, built primarily to generate hydroelectric power by diverting river water through a lengthy tunnel and channel system toward the Dehar Power House. The resulting reservoir has become a popular scenic stop for travelers moving between Mandi and Manali, prized for photographs of the surrounding green hills reflected in calm water. Timing a visit around water release periods offers a more dramatic view of the dam in action. Its location along a major travel route makes it an easy addition for road-tripping visitors.
