Uttar Kamalabari Satra

Uttar Kamalabari Satra was founded by Padma Aata, a disciple of Madhavdeva, as an offshoot of the main Kamalabari institution, and has developed its own reputation for preserving Ankia Naat drama and Saali dance. The satra maintains an active branch in Guwahati as well, through which its performers have carried Sattriya dance to audiences across India and abroad. On the island itself, the satra continues a quieter routine of study and performance training, drawing fewer visitors than its larger namesake nearby.
