Bengenaati Satra was established by Muraridev, grandson of a relative of Srimanta Sankardeva, and functions today partly as a monastery and partly as a museum of Ahom-era treasures. Its most notable holding is a golden robe once belonging to Ahom king Swargadeo Gadadhar Singha, displayed alongside a matching golden umbrella and other royal artefacts. Like other satras on the island, it continues to train performers in traditional arts even as it safeguards these historical objects. Reaching it typically requires a ferry crossing from Nimati Ghat in Jorhat followed by local transport.
