DakshinaChitra is a living heritage museum near Chennai dedicated to preserving the art, architecture, and lifestyle of South India. Spread along the Coromandel Coast, it showcases authentic traditional homes relocated from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. The museum features 18 historic houses reconstructed with original materials, craft demonstrations by master artisans, textile collections, performing arts performances, and galleries documenting the cultural traditions of South India. DakshinaChitra serves as a vital centre for the preservation and transmission of South Indian cultural heritage and offers an immersive experience of the region's diverse traditions.
