Sunset Point

Sunset Point, also called Bombay Point or Mumbai Point, is the classic evening destination in Mahabaleshwar, where a westward-facing ridge allows unobstructed views of the sun descending over the Konkan plains. The point fills with visitors in the hour before dusk and the gathering mist and colour at this elevation routinely produce dramatic light conditions. It remains the most accessible of Mahabaleshwar's viewpoints, a short drive or easy walk from the town centre.
