Started by a family that ran a rice noodle business in Burma before relocating to Madurai decades ago, this tiny eatery has stuck to a single item menu ever since. The idiyappam arrives soft, fresh, and inexpensive, paired with a coconut milk sweetener and a tangy tomato chutney, with a millet variety also available. There is no seating and the setup is deliberately basic, but the focus on one dish done consistently well has kept it a favourite for generations of regulars in Madurai.
