Ram Asrey has been a fixture of Hazratganj since 1805, making it one of Lucknow's oldest surviving sweet shops. Its signature creation is the malai paan, also known as malai gilori, a delicate sweet shaped like a paan leaf and filled with layers of malai, khoya, mishri and dry fruits, available in classic and saffron versions. The shop also offers Bengali sweets, gazak and petha, along with seasonal specialties like black carrot halwa. Over two centuries on, it remains a favorite for anyone chasing an authentic taste of old Lucknow.
