St Mary's Church

Gothic garrison church from 1895 in Lansdowne, now a small heritage museum of cantonment photographs.

St Mary's Church was built in the 1890s as the Anglican garrison chapel for the Garhwal Rifles. The stone Gothic building now holds a small museum of old photographs and cantonment objects, and the churchyard sits in pine. It is a walk from the market, not a temple, and a quiet stop between Bhulla Tal and the war memorial. Stay in Lansdowne and visit in daylight, when the door is usually open.
