Raghunath Temple stands in the Sultanpur palace grounds on the edge of Kullu town and is dedicated to Lord Rama (Raghunath), the principal deity of the Kullu Valley. Local tradition holds that Raja Jagat Singh brought the idol here in the 17th century, after which Raghunath became the reigning deity of the royal house. The wooden Himachali-style shrine is the ceremonial heart of Kullu Dussehra, when village deities from across the valley arrive to pay respect. Outside festival weeks it remains a calm stop for darshan, with the older palace setting and nearby Beas views adding quiet context. Dress modestly, remove footwear before entering, and expect denser crowds during Dussehra and major Hindu festivals.
