Illikkal Kallu is a naturally split rock outcrop in the Western Ghats at an elevation of around 6,000 feet, on the Kottayam side bordering Idukki's Vagamon hills. The rock's dramatic cleft and the panoramic views from its summit draw trekkers willing to make the climb, with the route often combined with nearby Elaveezha Poonchira in a single hill day trip. Weather can shift quickly at this elevation, so mornings tend to offer the clearest visibility.
