Souparnika River

The Souparnika River flows past Kollur just a kilometre from the temple, its waters considered sacred for pilgrims preparing for darshan. Devotees bathe here before entering Mookambika Temple, believing the river carries purifying properties tied to the goddess. A footbridge crosses the river near a quiet ghat, offering views of the forested hills of the Western Ghats. Early mornings bring a calm, misty atmosphere, making it a peaceful stop for both ritual and reflection before or after the temple visit.
