Town Hall Museum

An 1876 Neo-Gothic building housing Satavahana-era artefacts, sculptures, coins and historical relics from Kolhapur's ancient past.

Town Hall Museum occupies an imposing Neo-Gothic building designed by Charles Mant in 1872-76, originally serving as Kolhapur's British-era courthouse and town hall. Today it houses an important collection of artefacts from the Satavahana, Shilahara and Bahmani periods including ancient sculptures, coins, terracotta objects, manuscripts and inscriptions. The collection provides archaeological context for understanding how Kolhapur has been continuously occupied and culturally significant for over two millennia.
