Bhavani Mandap near the Mahalaxmi Temple is the oldest surviving palatial structure in Kolhapur, originally serving as the royal court and durbar hall of the Chhatrapati Maharajas. Built entirely of black basalt stone in an early Indo-Saracenic style, the complex houses statues, wooden thrones, stuffed animal trophies and a sculpture of Shahu Maharaj. It is a public monument and one of the key heritage sites in the old city, situated a short walk from the Mahalaxmi Temple.
