Touphema Tourist Village, also known as the Ancient Heritage Village, was developed by the Government of Nagaland in collaboration with the local community as a model of community-based tourism. Located about 40 km from Kohima, the village is built in the style of a traditional Naga settlement with authentic huts, communal spaces, and tribal architecture. Visitors can stay overnight in the huts, eat traditional Naga food including smoked meats, fermented bamboo shoots, and local rice, and participate in cultural programs including folk dances and music. The village gives visitors a genuine immersive experience of the Naga way of life that is difficult to find in the main town.
