Dzukou Valley sits at about 2,450 metres on the border of Nagaland and Manipur, about 25 km from Kohima. It is one of the most celebrated trekking destinations in northeast India and is often called the Valley of Flowers for the extraordinary blooms that carpet the valley floor every summer. The rare Dzukou lily, found only in this valley, blooms between June and September in enormous numbers. Rhododendrons, wildflowers, and bamboo forests cover the surrounding hillsides. The trek from the Kohima side takes about 3 to 4 hours and passes through dense forest before opening into the sweeping grasslands of the valley. Camping is permitted in the valley and a basic rest house is available.
