Stretching over 200 kilometres along Kerala's coast, Vembanad is the longest lake in India and the scenic centerpiece of Kochi's backwater landscape. The lake cradles Bolgatty Island, Willingdon Island, and the houseboat routes that Kerala is famous for, while its shores are home to wetland bird species and traditional fishing communities.
