Bolgatty Island

Bolgatty Island in Kochi is a small island in the Vembanad Lake, home to the historic Bolgatty Palace, one of the oldest Dutch palaces outside Holland, built in 1744. The palace was later taken over by the British and eventually converted into a heritage hotel run by Kerala Tourism. The island offers a tranquil escape from the city bustle, with lush gardens, backwater views, and the charm of colonial-era architecture. Accessible by a short ferry ride, Bolgatty Island is popular for its peaceful setting, heritage stay experience, and views of the Kochi harbour.
