Rajguru Wada

Ancestral home of freedom fighter Shivaram Rajguru on the Bhima riverbank in Rajgurunagar, preserved as a memorial.

Rajguru Wada is the century old ancestral house where Shivaram Hari Rajguru, hanged alongside Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev in 1931, was born in 1908. Spread over roughly 2,788 square metres on the Bhima riverbank, the wada sat neglected for decades until the Hutatma Rajguru Smarak Samiti formed in 2004 and restored the birth quarters as a memorial. The trust hoists the national flag here on Republic Day, and the site draws visitors paying respects to a young independence martyr.
