Eastern Group of Temples

A quieter cluster of Hindu and Jain temples in Khajuraho's old village, including Brahma, Javari, Vamana, and Jain temples.

A quieter, more intimate cluster of Chandela-era Hindu and Jain temples spread across Khajuraho's old village on the eastern side of town. The Hindu set includes the Brahma, Javari, and Vamana temples, while a separate Jain enclosure holds Parshvanatha, Adinatha, Ghantai, and Shantinatha. Walking the Eastern Group takes visitors through narrow lanes and past village ponds, offering a very different pace from the ticketed Western complex. A must for anyone wanting more than the highlights.
