Archaeological Museum

An ASI museum next to Khajuraho's Western temples housing fine 9th–12th century Chandela sculptural fragments from the temple complexes.

The Archaeological Museum at Khajuraho is an ASI-managed museum located next to the Western Group of temples. It houses a rich collection of sculptures recovered from the Khajuraho area, including figures of gods, goddesses, apsaras, and devotional panels that were originally part of the temple complexes. Some of the finest sculptural fragments from the 9th to 12th century Chandela period are on display here, offering context and close-up appreciation of the artistry that makes Khajuraho famous. A visit to the museum complements the experience of exploring the temple complex itself.
