Vasuki Tal is a high-altitude lake at approximately 4,150 metres, sitting about 8 km beyond Kedarnath Temple. The lake is believed to be the spot where Lord Vishnu bathed and is named after the serpent Vasuki. The trek from Kedarnath passes through alpine meadows filled with Brahma Kamal, the rare lotus-like flower sacred to Lord Shiva that blooms only at high altitudes. The lake offers magnificent views of the Chaukhamba peaks. The trek is challenging and suited for fit, experienced trekkers. During winter the lake is completely frozen.
