Burapahar is the westernmost safari range of Kaziranga National Park, near Ghorakati, where grassland meets forested hills. It sees fewer visitors than the central ranges, and its tracks pass rhino habitat, woodland and hill slopes with elephants, deer, primates and birds.
For the 2026 to 2027 season, the Forest Department said Burapahar would open later than the Central, Western and Eastern ranges; check the current status before booking. Jeep safari gate entry is 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Permits are issued by the Eastern Assam Wildlife Division at Bokakhat and through the Assam Sewa Setu portal.
