The Western Range at Bagori is known for some of the best rhino sightings in Kaziranga National Park, with open grassland and water bodies that also draw wild water buffalo, elephants and swamp deer. The range is a short drive west of Kohora along NH 715.
Bagori reopened for jeep safaris on 3 October 2026 for the 2026 to 2027 season, together with the Central Range. Jeep safari gate entry is 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM and 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Permits are issued by the Eastern Assam Wildlife Division at Bokakhat and through the Assam Sewa Setu portal.
