Baijnath Temples

12th-century Katyuri Shiva temple group on the Gomti River, a short drive from Kausani toward Bageshwar.

The Baijnath temples stand on the left bank of the Gomti about 16 to 20 km from Kausani, a cluster of stone shrines from the Katyuri period dedicated mainly to Shiva as Vaidyanath. Carved figures include a standing Parvati and smaller shrines around the main sanctum. Travellers staying in Kausani usually treat this as a half-day trip on the Bageshwar road. Shivratri and Makar Sankranti bring larger local crowds.
