Bhairon Mandir

Hilltop temple considered the final and essential stop of the Vaishno Devi yatra accessible by ropeway.

Bhairon Mandir stands at 6,619 feet on a ridge adjacent to the Trikuta Hills, about 2 km beyond the Vaishno Devi Bhawan. Dedicated to Bhairavnath, a manifestation of Lord Shiva, the temple marks the traditional conclusion of the pilgrimage; devotees believe the yatra is incomplete without darshan here. According to legend, Bhairavnath repented after being slain by the Goddess and was granted the boon of being the last link of the pilgrimage. A ropeway connects the Bhawan to the temple, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valley.
