Patan Durbar Square is the old royal square of Lalitpur, across the Bagmati from Kathmandu. The stone Krishna Mandir stands in the open square, and the palace courtyards hold the Patan Museum. Wood and metal workshops fill the lanes just off the square. The ticket is separate from Kathmandu Durbar Square. The square is a UNESCO monument zone. Allow a morning if you want the museum as well as the temples outside.
