Sitting on the Kerala Karnataka border near Manjeshwar, Kanwatheertha Beach is known for an unusual natural pool where seawater collects in a calm, half kilometer long formation safe for swimming, including for children. The wider beach stretches about four kilometers, lined with coconut palms and largely free of rough waves. Locals and visitors treat it as a picnic destination, and the January to March window brings the added draw of nearby Theyyam performances during the region's ritual season.
