Ganga Barrage

Ganga Barrage in Kanpur, officially the Kanpur Barrage, is a large dam and flood control structure on the Ganga River. Built to regulate water flow for irrigation and to control flooding of the low-lying areas of Kanpur, the barrage also serves as a scenic riverside destination. The barrage is particularly popular during evenings and early mornings when locals gather along its banks. The structure offers good views of the Ganga, and the riverfront area near the barrage has been developed with gardens and walkways. The Ganga Aarti conducted on the banks here has also grown in popularity in recent years.
