Ulagalantha Perumal Temple is dedicated to Vishnu in his Trivikrama form, commemorating the legend in which he grew to cosmic size and covered the earth, sky, and heavens in three strides to reclaim them from the demon king Mahabali. The temple's sculptures depict this moment of expansion, giving the shrine a distinct visual identity compared to Kanchipuram's more numerous Shiva sites. It remains a lesser visited but architecturally interesting stop among the town's cluster of Vaishnavite temples.
