The Auli Ropeway links Joshimath directly to the ski resort of Auli across a run of more than four kilometres, ranking among the longest cable car rides in Asia. The twenty five minute journey passes over forested slopes with views of Nanda Devi and neighbouring peaks, making it a worthwhile ride regardless of the season. Winter transforms the ride into the gateway for skiing and snowboarding on Auli's slopes.
