Nimati Ghat is a bustling river port on the banks of the Brahmaputra, about seventeen kilometres from Jorhat, and has served as a key transit point since the Ahom and colonial eras. Today it functions as the main ferry connection between Jorhat and Majuli, carrying a steady stream of locals, traders and travellers across the river. The ghat offers wide views of the Brahmaputra in motion, with boats loading passengers, vehicles and goods throughout the day.
