Burigosain Devalay is a centuries old temple within Jorhat city dedicated to the goddess Burigosain, worshipped locally as an incarnation of Kali. According to tradition, the temple's priest and deity were brought from the Jaintia Hills after the Ahoms defeated the local king there, and the site has remained a centre of devotion for tea garden communities ever since. Its simple architecture and unhurried atmosphere reflect local craftsmanship rather than grand design.
