Machiya Biological Park, also called Machia Safari Park, opened in January 2016 on about 41 hectares of forest land near Kaylana Lake, 7 to 8 km west of Jodhpur. It is run by the Rajasthan Forest Department and replaced the old zoo in Umaid Garden. Animals live in large open enclosures along a walking and vehicle route, and include lions, hyena, desert fox, chinkara, blackbuck and many birds. Plan on two hours, and go early in hot months when the animals are more active.

- How to Reach: About 8 km west of the city on the Kaylana Lake road. Take an auto or taxi and combine it with Kaylana Lake.
